IPad mini 6 tablets stopped charging after updating to iPadOS 15.5, and Apple knows about it
IPad mini 6 owners began to complain that after updating to iPadOS 15.5 some tablets stopped charging.
What to do?
These complaints have reached Apple as well. In a memo sent to authorized service providers, Apple said it is aware that some users may report that the latest iPad mini cannot charge after updating to iPadOS 15.5. The company is advising service providers and retail employees to inform customers to restart the device as a temporary fix while the investigation continues.
What's interesting is that Apple explicitly notes that replacing the iPad or its battery hardware will not solve the problem. So it's only a software problem.
By the way, the company is now testing iPadOS 15.6 firmware, which will probably fix the charging bug. But it is not clear when exactly it will be released.
