Genshin Impact version 3.0 will get a seventh element and two additional reactions
From the very start, Genshin Impact offers to control heroes who possess one of the six elements. But in the world of Teivata, there are only seven of them - the Dendro element remains unplayable. Things will change in version 3.0 - HoYoverse told details about future changes.
The developers note that Dendro will be the final piece of the mosaic in the element system. HoYoverse approached the issue very seriously, inviting planning specialists. All for the sake of the finished mechanics being clear for assimilation.
"The design of Dendro Elemental is based on three key concepts: catalysis, wisdom, and life. These three concepts are reflected in elemental reactions, level design, and location mechanics. And they are all closely related."
Three reactions are associated with Dendro, two of which are the main ones:
- Burning (Dendro + Pyro) - gamers are familiar with this due to Dendro's setting fire to slimes and spikes that appear at the command of shamans.
- Budonization (Dendro + Hydro) - created under the inspiration of blooming flowers. When the elements interact, a sprout appears. It is not yet clear what its special feature is.
- Catalysis (Dendro + Electro) - combining the energy of Electro and the wisdom of Dendro, they form an unprecedented reaction. The developers also kept the principle of its action a secret.
Together with the update, the Sumatra region will be added to the game - the kingdom of Teivata, where Dendro Archon is worshiped. The area is drowned in greenery that reacts to the elements of the characters. The video shows that some mushroom platform is activated by catalysis, and burning destroys it. Depending on the element used against them, the behavior or attacks will also change. Defeating enemies in a certain status will bring different rewards.
Version 3.0 will appear sometime in the future. The next update 2.8 will land in Genshin Impact on July 13th. As usual, travelers are waiting for a new character, challenges and much more.
You can walk around Teivat on PC, PlayStation and mobile devices. According to the developers, a console version from Nintendo is still in development.
