Audi has announced a new relationship with Redwood Materials to recycle electric vehicle batteries. The two businesses will collaborate to recycle electric car batteries for both Audi and Volkswagen. It's critical for firms to find a solution for disposing of Electric Vehicle battery waste.

The new EV battery recycling partnership will be aided by VWGoA's nationwide network of around 1,000 dealers, starting with the Audi and Volkswagen marques. A comprehensive approach to the battery lifecycle is key to the collaboration's success. The collaboration can help local battery capacity and expertise as Volkswagen continues its move toward an all-electric lineup by allowing for more sustainable usage of battery components from the time vehicles leave the production line through their end of life.

Audi has one of the most complete and advanced all-electric vehicle lineups, including the e-tron SUV, e-tron Sportback, and e-tron GT/RS e-tron GT, with more to come. Making a luxury all-electric future a reality now, VWGoA strives to start establishing battery recycling infrastructure for existing and future vehicles in North America. Through 2030, as Volkswagen Group brands plan to introduce over 25 new battery electric vehicles in the United States, VWGoA aims to start setting up battery recycling processes now.

Finally, the new EV battery recycling collaboration will integrate prototype batteries from Volkswagen's research facilities in Chattanooga, such as the Battery Engineering Lab (BEL). Redwood Materials will work directly with dealers and Volkswagen sites to identify end-of-life batteries and materials, then safely package and transport them to their Nevada factories.
