Samsung's SmartThings Find hits a new milestone with 200 million nodes, assisting in the location of lost devices
Samsung claims that within two years, its SmartThings Find network has grown to over 200 million “nodes” for assisting you in finding misplaced gadgets and Galaxy SmartTags. Samsung announced in a news release that the SmartThings Find network has dramatically increased in size over the last year, with 200 million “find nodes” now out there. A "find node" is a Galaxy smartphone or tablet that is affiliated with SmartThings Find and can provide information regarding the location of a Galaxy SmartTag to the tag's owner.
Samsung claims that 100 million registered units have been added in less than a year. Samsung's smartphones, earbuds, and other devices run SmartThings Find. It is most often utilized for Galaxy SmartTags - Samsung's equivalent of the popular Apple AirTag - on Galaxy phones.
The 200 million “find nodes” out in the wild boost the odds that you’ll actually find your SmartTag as it comes across a registered device. By comparison, Apple said in 2021 that its “Find My” network was made up of “hundreds of millions of Apple devices,” but the company has never put out specific number like this. The Find My network is, of course, considerably older than Samsung’s.
