Last year, the first Dark Solus turned 10 years old. Irish book publisher Tune&Fairwether decided to celebrate the anniversary in their own way: they will publish the game's lore in the format of a beautifully designed two-volume Abyssal Archive book.

According to the creators, Abyssal Archive is distinguished by the following:

  • 528 pages divided into two volumes.
  • The most comprehensive analysis of the world of the first Dark Souls from veteran Lokey.
  • Detailed map of Lordran by artist Judson Cowan. It is folded and stored in a separate wrapper.
  • It is folded and stored in a separate cover.
  • The roots of both books are made of "fireproof red wyvern skin" with gilded lettering.
  • The letters on the pages were created specifically for the Abyssal Archive.
  • More than 50 illustrations are also drawn specially for Abyssal Archive. There are black and white and color images, and diagrams with explanations of individual subtleties of lore.
  • On the endpapers there are maps showing your "progress" in the game world.
  • More than 200 notes from the author, which are placed on the side of the page - you don't need to crawl somewhere at the end for annotations!

Abyssal Archive has different versions, but all of them have very expensive prices:

  • Standard version (two volumes, card and book case) - $180.
  • Limited Edition (as standard, but with special bookmark and case) - $249.
  • Benefactor Edition (like the Limited Edition, but your name will be entered in a special section inside the book) — $495.

The Abyssal Archive will be sent out from early 2023. Previously, Tune & Fairweather released two more books based on Dark Souls: You Died, a collector's edition, which chronicles the phenomenon of the game, and Soul Arts, which collected contest illustrations from another veteran lore specialist, VaatiVidya.
