It is official: M270 multiple launch rocket systems with a range of up to 80 km are already in Ukraine
After several months of waiting, Ukraine finally received the first batch of M270 tracked multiple rocket launchers.
What is known
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced this. In an interview with the BBC he also added that there are now three units in Ukraine, but there will be more (approximately 12).
Recall, MLRS M270 is a US tracked Multiple Launch Rocket System based on the Bradley BMP. It is designed to carry out combat missions of engaging and destroying from enclosed firing positions at ranges of 2 to 300 km (depending on the projectile). It can be used at any time of day and in any weather conditions. One such unit can carry up to 12 missiles.
By the way, there is another American MLRS in Ukraine now - M140 HIMARS. How it differs from M270 can be found in our article.
