The seventh season of Sea of Thieves will start later - on August 4
Sad news for Sea of Thieves fans - the beginning of the seventh season postponed for several weeks. The game is undergoing fundamental changes, so Rare decided to take extra time to polish the update.
We will remind you that the future update is built around captaincy - gamers will be able to take control of their own ship, give it a name and become the commander. In addition, exclusive adventures are available to pirates with the highest rank.
Executive producer Joe Neat explained that in order to introduce captaincy into action, a lot of hidden work has to be done:
"This update includes a wide range of new statistics to track. It required complex interactions between our game, UI, and teams from different services to make it all happen."
As we neared the originally stated release date, the developers realized that "things are more complicated than we'd like them to be." There was a risk of releasing a product that was not of the quality that the community deserved. In order not to put pressure on specialists and finish the update calmly, the team decided to postpone the start of the new season.
Now, instead of July 21, the seventh chapter of Sea of Thieves will begin on August 4. Go on the next adventure called "A Hunter's Cry" (A Hunter's Cry) will be released on August 18.
