Screenwriter Josh Sherr sometimes appeared in the news about Naughty Dog, but generally somewhere on the periphery of publicity. Nevertheless, he was an important employee of the studio and worked on themes for at least 21 years.

And now Sherr announced which leaves Naughty Dog. During his time in the studio, he occupied  the following positions:

  • He was the lead animator of the cutscenes of Jak II, Jak3, Jak X: Combat Racing and the first three numbers of Uncharted.
  • Worked on the script for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End with Neil DruckmannBruce Straley and a freelance writer by Tom Bissell.
  • Worked on the script for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
  • He was the scriptwriter and story designer of The Last of Us Part II. There Sherr worked on system dialogues for enemies to make their lines sound more natural, as well as on gameplay dialogues, working out backstories, writing notes and superhero trading cards with my own mythology.
  • He was a story writer and designer in an unannounced project. Apparently a multiplayer spin-off based on The Last of Us Part II is meant.

As he notes Gl.biz, 21 years is an unusually long time to work for one company within the game industry. On your page Sherr writes, who has already found a new job for himself, and will talk about it a little later. Maybe the screenwriter was hired by another big studio, or maybe he will settle in a small indie team - both options happen with industry veterans.
