In May, it became known that the studio Digiral Extremes registered the trademark Soulframe. As it turned out at the TennoCon festival, this is really a new game, but it is not related to Warframe - perhaps, directly.

Soulframe is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG with a melee bent. The events will take place in a new universe, the main theme will be the clash of nature and humanity, and the central characters will be the world itself.

According to the creative director Jeff Crooksthe authors draw inspiration from the movie "The Neverending Story" and works Hayao Miyazaki - in particular, from "Princess Mononoke".

What else is known about Soulframe:

  • Emphasis is placed on exploration and cooperative PvE battles.
  • There are procedurally generated cave networks.
  • Gameplay is much slower than Warframe.
  • Hub is an open location, but not a set of rooms and corridors.
  • Despite the name, this is not soullike!

The concept of Soulframe began to be discussed in 2019, but until February 2022, a small team, consisting mainly of artists, was working on the game. The project is still in the early stages of production, but those selected will be given access to testing for a year.

There is no release date for the game.
