Into the Breach is a kind of chess about large combat robots, which won universal recognition even during its release in 2018. Now the game is released on new platforms with the Advanced Edition - a large free expansion.
The Advanced Edition adds:
- Five new squads and 15 new achievements for them.
- Seven new bug enemies, three new psionic enemies, and 10 new boss battles.
- 12 new tasks and three new types of bonus tasks.
- Four new pilots and 10 new random skills for them.
- 39 new types of weapons and equipment.
- Two new music tracks from Ben Prunty.
- A new level of difficulty - "Rogue Mode". There are a lot more situations that require you to waste network power, sacrifice pilots, and fail missions. Instead, energy boost bonuses are doubled to make it easier to come back from the brink of defeat.
Advanced Edition also changed the balance:
- Weapons require less energy, so players can instantly switch to new found equipment and immediately test it in action.
- To compensate for the reduction in energy requirements, purchases have become more expensive per unit, and various items in shops only appear on the first two islands.
- New mechanics:
- Knockout - a certain additional effect is triggered if the weapon with knockout destroyed the enemy.
- Fracture - the cell begins to fall apart. If you hit it, it will crumble and destroy everything that was on it.
- Boost - the next attack increases the damage by one
- Prices for mech squads have been reduced to take into account the new teams.
- Add-ons from the Advanced Edition can be disabled by rolling the game back to "vanilla" content.
Into the Breach: Advanced Edition is available on all platforms, including iOS and Android for Netflix subscribers. On phones, the interface has been redrawn specifically for touch screens.
