Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 will get slimmer bezels on the cover display
The aspect ratios of the cover and internal displays will be changed for the fourth-generation Galaxy Z Fold (which is scheduled to debut August 10). The cover display will switch from a width of 24.5:9 to a width of 23:9. According on this Ice Universe image, Samsung has also found a technique to reduce the bezels marginally.
The top one is vivo X Fold, the new Galaxy Z Fold4 is in the middle and the Galaxy Z Fold3 — the bottom one. Both the vertical and the horizontal bezels are slimmer than they were on the Z Fold3.
The hinge profile in this photo appears to be more compact and distinct. The reports are that the new hinge has been reengineered to reduce the crease. Returning to the subject of new aspect ratios, here's an illustration. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 will be heavier than its predecessors, giving applications a little more horizontal space on the cover display and making the top portion of the screen easier to reach.
The internal display will shift closer to a square, from 6.25:5 to 6:5 aspect ratio. We anticipate official teasers from Samsung in the three weeks leading up to the Unpacked event, and we hope to learn more about the screen and hinge rumors then.
This week, the Galaxy Z Fold4 (and Z Flip4) has leaked its first official images. Fans in the United States can already reserve a device and receive from $100 store credit - up to $200 if they also reserve a Galaxy Watch5 and new Galaxy Buds, both of which will be introduced at the same event.
