Google has finally enabled Nest customers to watch footage from their doorbells and cameras on Chromecast. Starting this week, Google is rolling out a software update for Google TV that allows the streaming stick to display video from all Nest Cam and Doorbell models, including those that were updated last year by Google.

Once you've obtained access, you may use your Chromecast Voice Remote or any other Assistant-enabled gadget to check what's going on in the outside world. Simply say, "Hey Google, show me the front door camera on my TV."

Google has been notably sluggish in adding Chromecast support, when compared to competing technologies. The ability to stream security video from your Nest-branded smart displays to your Google Smart Displays has been available for a while, as 9to5Google points out. In May, Google introduced an Alexa skill that enabled you to use the same features on Amazon Echoes Show, Fire TV, and Fire tablet devices. It's also worth noting that Amazon and Ring have previously offered a similar connection through their respective platforms.
