Omdia analysts have published a report on the global smartphone market in the second quarter of 2022.

Who is in the top?

According to the study, a total of 293.7 million smartphones were shipped from April to June. By comparison, the figure was 307.7 million in the first quarter and 303.3 million in the second quarter of last year. That is, sales declined in the second quarter of 2022.

The market leader is still Samsung - South Korean manufacturer has sold 62.2 million phones during this time. It is followed by Apple, the index of which is much smaller - 48.9 million sold gadgets. Omdia points to the high performance of devices such as the Galaxy A13 and Galaxy S22 series. As for Apple, there was strong brand loyalty and higher interest in the iPhone 13 series compared to the 12.

Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo ranked third, fourth and fifth, respectively, but all three showed a 20% drop in sales compared to last year.

But Honor truly shines: thanks to the company's focus on the domestic market, Honor achieved a 125.4% year-over-year increase in sales and took sixth place with more than 15.1 million units shipped.
