The author of the channel nevajno1kto assures, that he got the build with the re-release of the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R., where gamepad support was added. Allegedly, this is preparation for the release of an updated version of the game on consoles.
The source states the following:
- For the sake of consoles full gamepad support was introduced, redesigned the work of the inventory and PDA, introduced control prompts, as well as made some gameplay changes.
- Only "Shadow of Chernobyl" is in leak, but "Clear Sky" and "Call of Pripyat" are also going to be exported to consoles.
- The port is built on a heavily modified version of the X-Ray engine.
- Version for consoles is that unknown project, about the existence of which we learned from GSC Game World vacancies in 2021.
- The development is done by a third-party company, and GSC Game World is just a curator.
- They want to make the official release of the port shortly before the sequel's launch, in about a month or so.
Build is indeed controlled via gamepad, but there aren't any other noteworthy changes there - at least at first glance.
One theory is that it's not a real leak, but a fan modification. On the other hand, the resources of the leaked build are packaged differently than the regular PC version, and the built numbers don't match.
