Logitech and Tencent will release a portable console for cloud gaming

Logitech G (Logitech's gaming brand) and Tencent Games announced a partnership: together they are going to launch a portable console for cloud gaming. The device is due to launch very soon, but details have not been disclosed.

From the announcement we can learn the following:

• Logitech provides its expertise in hardware, and Tencent Games - in software services.
• The device supports various cloud platforms, including Xbox Cloug Gaming and GeForce NOW. The parties have partnered with Microsoft and NVIDIA.
• The device is scheduled for release in 2022.
• No specs, by the looks of it, not even a name has been disclosed yet.

Judging by the emphasis on cloud gameplay, the console is unlikely to be equipped with powerful iron - the analog of Steam Deck is not even a question. On the other hand, weak iron is usually accompanied by a low price.

Nowadays any smartphone can become a portable device for cloud gaming - you just need to connect a controller to it. So why Logitech and Tencent decided to create their own device and what will be its uniqueness is another question.
