The latest Earbuds from Urbanista do not require you to lug around a charging brick if you travel with them. This is because the Phoenix earphones have an Exeger Powerfoyle solar cell material-filled charging case. The firm claims that any sort of indoor or outdoor light can be used to charge the case's battery.

The earphones have a total battery life of eight hours, according to Urbanista. According to the company, the charging case has a total battery reserve of 32 hours as well. The Phoenix charging case appears to be significantly taller than other true wireless earbud charges, most likely allowing for greater solar cell material surface area.

The Urbanista earbuds have hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), as well as noise-reducing microphones and a transparency mode. They're equipped with multipoint connection, which allows you to link them to two devices simultaneously. Touch and voice controls, as well as greater customization through the Urbanista mobile app, are available. There's also IPX4 waterproofing.

Previously, the Powerfoyle tech was employed in Los Angeles over-ear headphones from Urbanista. We tried them out and discovered that direct sunlight could charge them faster than the battery discharged as a result of playback. ambient light, on the other hand, charged much more slowly.

It's uncertain who might be able to make the most of the Phoenix buds. If you're outside a lot and can leave the case in full sunlight while using the earphones, you might never have to connect the USB-C cable. At the absolute least, it's an intriguing device that shows another potential use scenario for solar cell material.

Urbanista Phoenix earbuds are available in black or pink. The price is $149/£129/€149.
