Although many sidewalk travelers may appreciate a motorized boost now and then, they may not want to carry an electric scooter or skateboard around with them. Airtrick's E-Skates are ideal for this purpose, as they can be quickly attached to the user's current footwear as needed. The E-Skates are made in Hong Kong and are currently being offered on Indiegogo.

Each one-piece 6063 aluminum alloy frame, quick-release silicone ankle and toe straps (plus an ankle support), rubber foot platform, four abrasion-resistant rubber wheels, 29.4-volt/3-Ah lithium battery, and 150-watt rear hub motor are included in pairs of two.

Users can select from four speeds with an included portable wireless remote, with the highest setting taking them up to 17 mph. Braking may be activated by pressing the activation button on the remote or stepping back on roller skate-style rubber brakes. A single charge of the batteries should last for 15 kilometers (9 miles).

The Airtrick E-Skates are also IPX3 waterproof, meaning they can withstand water sprays at angles of up to 60 degrees and support a maximum user weight of 100 kg (220 lb). The skates, according to Airtrick, weigh 3 kg (7 lb) each pair and may be attached or removed from the shoes in a matter of seconds. They accommodate US sizes ranging from 5 to 12 men and 6 to 12 women. They can be stored in an included nylon bag when not in use.

The specs we've mentioned are for the A1-Pro and A1-Ultra versions of the E-Skates. The only significant distinctions between the two appear to be a larger charger for the Ultra and the ability to upgrade certain components. There's also a less expensive A1-Standard version that uses two 130-watt motors to produce a top speed of 23 km/h (14 mph) and a range of 10 km (6 mi). Assuming that skates are produced, a pledge of US$399 will get you a pair of A1-Standards, with $459 and $569 being required for the A1-Pro and A1-Ultra versions, respectively.
