Apple demands that Rutube remove all materials of Russian state media from the app

Apple claimed to host Rutube request to remove from the iOS application all content from Russian state media.

What we know

Rutube has two weeks to comply with the requirements of the company from the United States. Thus the hosting company has an alternative option to solve the problem - to make the mobile application Rutube available exclusively to Russian users.

Apple is ready to remove the software from App Store if Rutube refuses to comply with the requirement. Hosting representatives have already stated that they do not plan to remove materials marked "state--sponsored media" because it "violates the rights of the Russian-speaking population."

Rutube restricted access to the app in the AppStore. It is now only available in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
