Apple is extending its repair program for iPhone 12 smartphones with sound problems in the speller

What it means

Apple launched the service program in August 2021 after the company determined that a "very small percentage" of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices could be experiencing audio problems due to a failure of a component of the speaker module, also known as the receiver. The problem could result in the speaker not producing sound during phone calls.

The program was originally in effect for 2 years, but has now been extended for another 1 year. During this time (3 years after the first retail sale of the device), Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will service eligible iPhones worldwide for free.

Keep in mind that the affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021, and the program does not apply to the iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max.
