Damen Shipyard debarked the first FCS 4008 Patrol ship for Romania
Dutch shipbuilding company Damen Shipyard launched in Antalya the FCS 4008 Patrol ship built for Romania.
What we know
Romania signed a contract with Damen Shipyard to build two such ships in 2021. The deal amounted to $26,740,000. In addition to construction, the contract also includes two years of maintenance. Romania plans to use FCS 4008 Patrol for patrol, search and rescue operations. In the near future, the first FCS 4008 Patrol will be equipped with a propulsion system and a navigation system. After that it will go to Romania.
For those who do not know
FCS 4008 Patrol is a patrol ship that can perform the missions up to 3 days and with the wave height up to 4 meters. The ship has a crew of 28 people, but the deck can accommodate up to 80 people. The FCS 4008 Patrol has a maximum speed 30 knots.
