Rumors about the development of a new Mafia franchise have finally been officially confirmed. And it was chosen a symbolic date: the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
The general manager of Hangar 13, the developer of Mafia III and the remake of the first part, said the following:
"I'm pleased to confirm that we've begun work on a brand new Mafia project! Although we are still a few years away from its launch and we have no details yet, but we are very excited to continue working on our beloved franchise and the opportunity to delight our players with new stories

No details about Mafia 4 have been released by the developer, but insiders have previously speculated that:
- the game will be a prequel to the first part;
- The main character will be Don Ennio Salieri (Ennio Salieri);
- The action of the new part will unfold in Sicily.
The project, code-named Nero, is created on the Unreal Engine 5, and its release date is too early to say.
In addition, the company 2K Games announced a compilation Mafia: Trilogy, and also offers to get the first part of the Mafia for free on Steam from September 1 to 5.
On the official Mafia website we offer to read an interview with the creators of the game and find out interesting details about the development of the cult franchise.
