David Last, a 54-year-old man from the Great Britain, believes the Apple Watch "saved his life" after his heart stopped 138 times in 48 hours.

Here's What We Know

David got the watch for his birthday as a present from his wife. The first measurements showed rather strange results: at rest, his pulse rate was below 30 beats per minute, while the normal rate was between 60 and 100 beats per minute.

The man thought the gadget was faulty, but his wife insisted on seeing a doctor. After a series of tests, doctors found that David's heart stopped 138 times in 48 hours. It happened at 10-second intervals during sleep. And the patient himself could not notice it, because at that moment, another part of the heart was activated, which started the blood flow.

After that, Last was fitted with a cardiac pacemaker. And he no longer takes off his Apple Watch - only to charge the battery.
