Here's the big announcement for tonight. Or maybe the whole year 2022. Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones, following the cheaper iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models.

Appearance

The main visual difference from last year's iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max is the new cutout design. It is called Dynamic Island and is an oval in which the Face ID sensors and the front camera are installed. The developers have worked on the software component, so as to fit this area into the system. It can turn into an information line or a notification.

According to Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have the best display ever. The LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED screen has a frame refresh rate of 1-120 Hz, a brightness of 2,000 nits and a dot density of 460 ppi. The display in the iPhone 14 Pro is 6.1" and the Pro Max version is 6.7". The panel supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

Features

One of the major updates to the series was the camera. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max finally have a non-12 MP module. The main camera has a 48MP sensor with 2.44µm pixels at 4-in-1 integration. The luminosity is f/1.78. The sensor is capable of capturing one and a half times more light compared to the iPhone 13 Pro. The resolution of the telephoto lens and ultra-wide-angle camera is 12 MP each.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are equipped with Apple's new A16 Bionic mobile processor. It has six cores and is made in 4 nm technology. The company notes a 20% reduction in power consumption. The work of artificial intelligence is provided by a 16-core neural chip. The graphics subsystem is represented by a five-core GPU.

The flagships are equipped with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6E, GPS, NFC, stereo speakers and run on iOS 16 operating system. Battery capacity and RAM capacity are not specified. Storage capacity ranges from 128GB to 1TB. Support for satellite communication is also there, but only works in the U.S. and Canada.

How Much Do They Cost?

Despite the rumors of price increases, prices remained at the level of the iPhone 13 Pro / Pro Max. So, the iPhone 14 Pro will be available for at least $999, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max will cost from $1099. Sales will begin on September 16.
