Lara Croft in safe hands: Crystal Dynamics now owns the exclusive rights to the Tomb Raider series
Embracer Group recently completed the acquisition of a number of Western game studios previously owned by Square Enix, including Crystal Dynamics.
Crystal Dynamics representatives said that after leaving Square Enix, they got the full rights to the Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain franchises at their disposal.
Thus, Crystal Dynamics studio, which worked on the last three parts of the Tomb Raider, now has full control over the franchise and will continue to release games about Lara Croft (Lara Croft).
Recall that a few months ago, Crystal Dynamics announced that it is working on a new part of Tomb Raider. The project is being created on the Unreal Engine 5, and the release will not be soon.
The developers didn't comment about the future of the Legacy of Kain series, but it is likely that Crystal Dynamics will revive this franchise, although the last part of it was released 18 years ago.
