The space agency NASA is already starting work on a spacesuit for astronauts who will go to the moon in the Artemis 3 mission.

Here's What We Know

Axiom Space, a Texas-based company, will develop and produce the spacesuits. NASA has allocated almost $230 million for the program. The third lunar mission is scheduled for Artemis in 2025, provided timely and successful completion of Artemis 1 and Artemis 2.

As a reminder, the Artemis program began in 2019. On Aug. 29, 2022, NASA had to postpone the launch of the Artemis 1 mission and the launch of the SLS rocket. The event was rescheduled for September 3, but due to another failure, the launch was postponed until October.

As part of Artemis 1, the Orin spacecraft will go into space. He will fly around the moon and return to Earth. The Artemis 2 mission is scheduled for 2024. This time the ship will go into space with the crew, but will return to our planet, since the moon landing will take place only in 2025.
