United Airlines invests $15 million in development of electric air cabs

United Airlines is ready to invest millions of dollars in the development of electric-powered air cabs.

United Airlines has announced plans to invest $15 million in Brazilian startup Eve Air Mobility, which is owned by aircraft manufacturing giant Embraer. It is developing air cabs for use in urban environments.

Eve Air Mobility's aircraft are equipped with fixed wings on which propellers are mounted. There is also a pair of propellers located at the tail end of the air cab. The flying machine is designed for four passengers and can carry them to a range of 100 km.

Deliveries of the first aircraft are scheduled for 2026. United Airlines has signed a contract to purchase 200 air cabs with the possibility of increasing to 400 units. The investment is being made through United Airlines Ventures.
