JC Tech tested the Flyingfish 200 kamikaze drone with GPS and artificial intelligence for less than $3,000
Taiwan is preparing for a possible military clash with China and is studying Ukraine's experience in the war against russia. In particular, the use of barrage munitions.
Here's What We Know
Apparently, the Taiwanese were satisfied with the effectiveness of kamikaze drones and decided to arm themselves with such devices. JC Tech has developed and tested the Flyingfish bouncing ammunition. It is available in three variants, like the American Switchblade, but there is information only about the middle version.
It's called the Flyingfish 200 and costs less than $3,000, about half the price of AeroVironment's kamikaze drone. The drone is 115 cm long. The body is made of a lightweight material that resembles plastic.
The hovering ammunition weighs 2.2 kg. The weight of the explosive is 0.5 kg, which is comparable to ten grenades. Flyingfish 200 can hit tanks, ships and military forces within a radius of up to 10 km from the launch point. For operation, the drone has artificial intelligence algorithms, GPS and cameras. The launch is performed using a catapult.
