Germany did not stop at MARS II multiple rocket launchers and Dingo ATF armored vehicles, announcing the preparation of a new batch of Panzerhaubitze 2000 for Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

The Ministry of Defense announced that Germany will transfer four more 155mm Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers to Ukraine. Thus, the total number of German self-propelled artillery systems in the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be increased to 22 units. Including future deliveries, Germany transferred 14 howitzers. The rest came from the Netherlands.

The Panzerhaubitze 2000, aka PzH 2000 is a Krauss-Maffei Wegmann artillery system. The same manufacturer also produces Leopard tanks, Gepard anti-aircraft guns and several models of armored vehicles, including the Dingo ATF. The self-propelled howitzer is based on a tracked chassis and can reach up to 67 km/h.

Maximum firing range of Panzerhaubitze 2000 is 67 km. The German howitzer can use high-precision Excalibur shells, which are supplied to Ukraine from the USA. In addition to the 155 mm gun, the self-propelled artillery unit has a 7.62 mm MG3 machine gun.
