CNN: USA may transfer modern tanks to Ukraine

The United States of America may transfer modern tanks to Ukraine.

An American defense official told CNN on condition of anonymity. The United States is already discussing such a possibility. Unfortunately, the transfer process will not be quick. Before that, the AFU must undergo training, as well as set up maintenance and equipment support.

"We’re looking at the entirety of the Ukrainian armed forces and considering for the future what capabilities they will need and how the US and our allies will be able to support Ukraine in building out those capabilities," the official said during a phone call with reporters.

The U.S. official did not name the model of the tanks, but it is very likely to be the M1 Abrams. This is the main battle tank of the third generation. It is in service in the United States and other countries since 1981.
