Chinese users told about Dynamic Island bugs they encountered while using the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

Here's What We Know

The Pro and Pro Max versions were the first Apple smartphones to feature a new notch called Dynamic Island instead of the familiar "bangs". This is a software solution, which is now part of the user interface, but it still works with glitches.

For example, some owners of iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max, when unlocking the smartphone using Face ID island breaks from its usual place, turns vertically and moves to the upper right edge of the display.

It's also reported that when you hold your finger on Dynamic Island, the cutout area enlarges but stays blank. Another glitch is that Dynamic Island may not respond to touch if there are no running apps in the background. In addition, not everyone likes that the cutout remains visible in screenshots.

All of these problems Apple will certainly solve by releasing updates to the operating system iOS 16. The only remaining issue is the display of notifications, which do not appear as part of Dynamic Island, but pop up under the notch.

Another problem is that many applications are still designed for the old cutout. It will be up to software developers to fix it, but Apple will need to open up the API.
