An update 1.26 has been released for Spelunky 2, which brings crosplay to the game

The developers of Spelunky 2 released a patch 1.26 for the game.

The game brought an online mode for all platforms, as well as multiplayer online game for Adventure and Arena modes. Game Manager Derek Yu said that the developers will now focus on collecting feedback from players to improve the game's existing modes and features. Therefore, do not wait for new modes or additions.

Crosplay integration has caused some difficulties for developers. "Often, resolving a problem, even if it seems minor, can take days or weeks as people communicate back and forth across different companies, departments, languages, and time zones,” Yu said. “Every platform has its own unique way of handling things, so getting everything lined up is tricky. This was particularly true for cross-play."

Spelunky 2 is available on PC (Steam), Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, and is part of the PC Game Pass library.
