Bundeswehr transfers last batch of Gepard to Ukraine - Armed Forces already received 30 anti-aircraft tanks
The German Defense Ministry has updated the list of military assistance to Ukraine. As it turned out, all the promised Gepard anti-aircraft tanks have gone to Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
In mid-June 2022, Germany announced plans to deliver 30 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled vehicles to Ukraine. Deliveries began a month later and took about two months, based on unofficially announced dates.
There were rumors that the total number of Gepard units would be reduced to 15, but as we see, Germany has kept its word and sent all 30 self-propelled units to Ukraine. Moreover, the Armed Forces received half of the entire shipment in three weeks in September. The last batch included six anti-aircraft tanks.
Along with the Gepard, additional ammunition arrived in Ukraine. The anti-aircraft units will not go to the front with empty ammunition, but with 6,000 rounds. In addition, Germany transferred 3,000 rounds of 155 mm ammunition (1,000 signal rounds and 2,000 smoke rounds)
