Another batch of Starlink satellites was successfully launched using the Falcon 9 reusable launch vehicle.

Here's What We Know

The rocket launched from the U.S. Space Force's Cape Canaveral pad in Florida on Sept. 25 at 20:32 (EDT) or 17:32 (PDT). Falcon 9 sent another 52 satellites into orbit. This brings the total number of Starlink spacecraft to nearly 3,400.

According to SpaceX, this was the fourth mission for the Falcon 9 first stage. Ten minutes after launch, it successfully returned to Earth, landing on the floating pad "A Shortfall of Gravitas" in the Atlantic Ocean.

Each orbital mission is now a record for SpaceX in 2022. Elon Musk's company has already completed 43 missions since the beginning of 2022. That's 12 more than for all of 2021.

SpaceX is still putting first-generation satellites into orbit. In 2023, the company will begin launching more powerful Starlink V2 spacecraft with the Starship, which can be accessed by smartphone owners.
