China will start sending tourists to space in 2025 - ticket price will be $280,000-420,000
Hong Kong firm China Tourism Group and the Chinese aerospace company CAS Space plan to start sending tourists to space in a few years.
Here's What We Know
The two companies have signed an agreement on joint research and development of space tourism. And the tourists will be able to cross the Karman line (about 100 km), which is considered the aviation boundary of the Earth's atmosphere.
The capsule with seven passengers will be taken over the Karman line with the help of a reusable rocket, after which their paths will part. In about 10 minutes, the rocket will separate from the shuttle and return to Earth. The capsule with the passengers will land with the help of parachute.
China Tourism Group and CAS Space will begin sending tourists to space in 2025. Tickets will cost from $280,000 to $420,000 (¥2-3 million).
