Kioxia (formerly Toshiba) has introduced the world's first microSDXC memory card with a capacity of 2TB.

Here's What We Know

The card uses innovative BiCS FLASH 3D memory and a new controller developed by Kioxia. The manufacturer attributes the increase in capacity to 2TB to the fact that demand for high-capacity memory cards is now at an all-time high. This is due to the fact that modern cameras and smartphones have learned to record video at a resolution of 2160p and above.

Kioxia was the first company in the world to release a microSDXC to 2 TB, although the SDXC SD Association specification supports memory cards with such a capacity for more than a year. Now the novelty is only available as a prototype, which includes 16 1TB chips. The start of mass production of memory cards is scheduled for 2023.
