The U.S. Armed Forces have tested the Abrams tank in the M1A2 SEP v4 modification.

This was reported by the press service of the 12th Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army. The tank was tested at the Yuma Proving Ground.
The M1A2 SEP v4 is the newest modification of the Abrams. This version of the tank differs from the M1A2 SEP v3 in that it has a third-generation thermal imager. It is integrated into the optical observation device. Thanks to it, the range of target detection and identification is increased.
In addition, the M1A2 SEP v4 boasts a new FLIR laser rangefinder, laser designator, color observation cameras, and the ability to use modern XM1147 projectiles and control the UAV directly from the tank.
By the way, the Abrams M1A2 SEP v4 modification began development in March 2022.
