Kyiv region was recently attacked for the first time by Iranian-made kamikaze drones, which damaged three infrastructure buildings in Bila Tserkva. Therefore, the Kyiv authorities, together with foreign specialists, are developing a project to protect the Ukrainian capital from UAVs.

Details

A special protective dome called "Muromets" with a powerful network of anti-drone direction finders-interceptors could be the solution. It is capable of preventing and countering Russian attacks by Shahid drones.

The Canadian drone manufacturing concern Dragan Fly is ready to implement this project and create a protective dome. Its president Cameron Chell visited Kyiv and discussed the details with Kyiv authorities. Participants of Ukrainian-Canadian working group are ready to involve about 2000 IT-specialists into this project.

At the same time, the project financing is not provided from the budget - the dome will be created by means of international donors.

The project will be presented during National Defence Hackathon, which will be held in Kyiv on October 19-21 with the support of NATO. Also this initiative will be discussed at the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Berlin on October 25.
