XPeng X2 flying car makes first demonstration flight outside China
The Chinese company XPeng has shown what it has achieved in its work on the flying car X2.
Here's What We Know
The XPeng X2 is a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle. It performed a demonstration flight in front of the public at the Gitex Global 2022 exhibition in Dubai. The official presentation took place earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show.
XPeng announced its participation in the Dubai show back in September. The first public demonstration of the XPeng X2 outside the Middle Kingdom took place at the Gitex Global 2022 event. The flight lasted 90 minutes. However, without passengers on board. Before that, the electric car took to the air only in China. Perhaps the flight with people in the cabin will be made later, because the company has received approvals for this. The exhibition will last until October 14.
As you may have noticed, the manufacturer calls its flying machine simply XPeng X2, not XPeng Voyager X2. The video shows a fifth-generation prototype, and at the end of October, the company will unveil a sixth-generation prototype that can both fly and drive on the track.
