The Lithuanian Defense Minister announced a new military aid package for Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
According to Arvydas Anusauskas, Lithuania will transfer Panzermörser mobile mortars to the AFU, which are built on the basis of the M113 tracked armored personnel carrier. The unit uses a 120 mm Tampella mortar. It has a 60-mm ammunition and can fire up to 6.3 km range.
It is not known how many launchers will be passed to us, but Lithuania has 42 Panzermörser M113 in its arms. They were handed over to the Lithuanians by Germany in 2005-2006. In 2013, Lithuania ordered their modernization from the Israeli company Elbit. New versions with a digital control system and updated fire correction equipment entered service in 2015.
