Lockheed Martin is showing the Darkstar hypersonic aircraft from Top Gun: Maverick this weekend
Residents and visitors to the United States this weekend (October 15-16) will be able to see Lockheed Martin's Darkstar hypersonic aircraft live.
Here's What We Know
Of course we're talking about a mock-up of the fighter jet. The American company developed it especially for the movie Top Gun: Maverick. According to the plot, it can reach a speed of 10 Mach (12,348 km/h). Demonstration of the aircraft will be held in Southern California at the 2022 Aerospace Valley Open House, Air Show, & STEM Expo.
Darkstar looks very realistic and can be taken for a real hypersonic fighter. The information that the mockup of the plane will appear at the exhibition has been circulating in the media for a long time, but only now it has been officially confirmed. A corresponding announcement appeared on social media at the U.S. Air Force base Edwards.
