In honor of the 14th anniversary of the original Dead Space, Motive Studio together with Electronic Arts showed 8 minutes of Dead Space Remake gameplay. The game has become more creepy, tense, atmospheric and detailed.

Here's What We Know

We were shown Ishimura's hangar from which the 3rd chapter of the game begins. Compared to the original game, the hangar in the remake has become much larger and now it can be even better explored.

Players, from time to time, will be able to decide for themselves how to pass certain moments in the game. For example, in the third chapter there is a choice: to pass the location without oxygen, relying only on the reserves in the cylinder, or not to worry about this element, but the location will have to turn off the light.

The tension in the game has increased significantly. For example, smoke appears in the decontamination room, which creates a thick and opaque atmosphere that makes the player lose track of those who are hiding, even when they are nearby. This increases claustrophobia, the feeling that "you are locked in a pack of necromorphs".

At the end they showed a centrifuge. The developers added a lot of details here. Particle effects, lighting and floating debris. Motive Studio wanted this room to be amazing and at the same time tell a story. Also, due to the size of the centrifuge, it is difficult to keep track of it. Especially the necromorphs that arrive. So audio plays a huge role here to determine the direction of the threat.
