The command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed the number of destroyed Shahed-136 Iranian-made kamikaze drones, which Russia labels as "Geran-2.
Here's What We Know
The first bomber was shot down on September 13. Since then, 36 days have passed, and in that time the Ukrainian Air Force has been able to eliminate 223 kamikaze drones. On average, we have just over six drones destroyed per day.
In recent days, however, Russia has been much more active in using drones than it was a month ago. For example, on the night of October 18-19 alone, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 13 kamikaze drones that attacked the Mykholaiv region.
To eliminate Iranian drones, the Ukrainian Air Force uses fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, self-propelled air defense units and man-portable air defense systems. Anti-aircraft guns and large-caliber machine guns are also used.
