Recently we wrote that Germany is going to send to Ukraine an additional batch of MARS II MLRS and PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers. Now it is known when exactly the equipment will be received by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

When We Can Expect It

According to German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht, the Ukrainian military will receive a new batch of weapons by the end of this year. We are talking about at least four SAU. That is, Ukraine will have 22 Panzerhaubitze 2000 (14 from Germany and 8 from the Netherlands.). But how many additional MLRS will be transferred to the AFU is not yet known.

Flashback

The PzH-2000 (Panzerhaubitze 2000) is a 155 mm self-propelled howitzer developed by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. It was adopted by the Bundeswehr in the fall of 1998. It uses 52 caliber (8 m) barrel, automatic loading system with 60 rounds of ammunition, 228 modular throwing charges and modern ground navigation system. Range of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 is 30-50 km (depending on the projectile).
