Saudi Arabia begins construction of The Line, a $1 trillion skyscraper that will be taller than the Empire State Building
A few months ago we wrote that Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman would invest $1 trillion to build the Mirror Line, a twin skyscraper. The city of the future will be called The Line.
It seems that the construction of the skyscraper has already begun. The Ot Sky company has published video footage, which shows the work of trucks and heavy equipment in the middle of the desert. Judging by the video made for the architectural magazine Dezeen, excavators have begun to lay a large line along the desert.
The two horizontal skyscrapers will be a short distance from each other. They will be 488 meters high, which means that they will be 107 meters higher than the Empire State Building. The length is 170 km. The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia wants to finish the project within eight years, but experts say that the construction of The Line will take 50 years.
