Recently we wrote that Czech people collected $1.3 million for an upgraded T-72 tank for Ukraine. The fighting vehicle has already gone to its new owner.

Here's What We Know

The tank was named Tomáš in honor of the first president of Czechoslovakia. It cost 25 million zlotys ($1 million). Another 8 million zlotys ($300,000) were spent on the purchase of ammunition for the combat vehicle, so it will not arrive in Ukraine empty-handed.

The Czech upgrade of the T-72 features improved armor and enhanced combat capabilities. The Konatkt-1 dynamic protection enhances the combat vehicle's protection against APCs and RPGs. In addition, the Avenger has received a night vision system from Opticstrade, more advanced communication devices and a GPS navigation receiver.

The T-72 Avenger is equipped with a 12 cylinder B-84 engine rated at 840 hp. It significantly increases maneuverability of the fighting vehicle.
