Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal spoke about the effectiveness of the German anti-aircraft missile system IRIS-T.

According to the Minister, the IRIS-T air defense missile system has shown itself in a good way. The missile complex is able to destroy 9 missiles out of 10. That is, it really saves lives of Ukrainians and can effectively protect critical facilities. By the way, according to Shmygal, in the last two weeks Russia fired 300 missiles and drones at the territory of Ukraine, which purposefully destroyed the energy, thermal and water supply infrastructure.

The IRIS-T is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system. It was developed by the German company Diehl Defense in 2014. The system is designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise and ballistic missiles. IRIS-T is considered one of the most advanced air defense systems. Ukraine received the first IRIS-T system a couple of weeks ago. By the end of this year we will receive another system. At the beginning of 2023, two more units will be supplied to the AFU.
