It's official: Germany will transfer two MARS II MLRSs and four Panzerhaubitze 2000 SAUs to Ukraine
Yesterday, on October 25, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his visit to Kyiv confirmed that Ukraine will receive an additional batch of MARS II multiple rocket launchers and Panzerhaubitze 2000 SAU.
Here's What We Know
According to the President, we are talking about two multiple launch rocket systems and four self-propelled howitzers. The equipment must be supplied to the AFU by the end of this year. It means that soon there will be 22 Panzerhabitze 2000 (14 from Germany and 8 from the Netherlands), and also 5 MARS II MLRS. In addition, the AFU also has 20 HIMARS and 6 M270.

The PzH-2000 (Panzerhaubitze 2000) is a 155 mm self-propelled howitzer developed by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. It was adopted by the Bundeswehr in the fall of 1998. It uses 52 caliber (8 m) barrel, automatic loading system with 60 rounds of ammunition, 228 modular throwing charges and modern land navigation system. Range of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 is 30-50 km (depending on the projectile).
Mars II is the European modification of the American M270 multiple rocket launcher system. It is equipped with the upgraded Airbus Defense and Space fire control system, which allows the use of M31, M31A1, M32 and AT2 missiles. The firing range of Mars II is up to 70 km.
