Sweden can transfer 12 self-propelled howitzers Archer to Ukraine, they can hit targets with Excalibur shells at a distance of 60 km

The Swedish Army plans to transfer Archer self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine.

The Swedish Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lidén informed about it in the interview to the local newspaper SvD. According to him, the Swedish Defense Ministry had been discussing the issue for a long time and had decided that it could transfer 12 launchers to Ukraine. Unfortunately, there has been no official statement from the Swedish Defense Ministry yet. By the way, the Swedish army has a total of 48 Archer anti-tank gun mounts.

Flashback

Archer is a modern Swedish 155 mm self-propelled artillery unit based on Volvo A30D 6×6 chassis. It is designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries, bunkers, as well as to provide passages in minefields and field barriers. The SAU is operated by 3-4 people. It is capable of engaging targets at ranges up to 60 km (with Excalibur rounds).
