Roketsan and STM have created an intelligent kamikaze drone, ALPAGUT, that can be launched from Bayraktar Akinci

The Turkish companies STM and Roketsan have developed a new bomber munition. It is called ALPAGUT.

Here's What We Know

ALPAGUT is an intelligent kamikaze drone, both ground and airborne. The borne ordnance can be launched from Aksungur, SIHA, Bayraktar Akinci and Bayraktar TB3 drones. The latter has not even been presented yet, by the way. It is possible that the source made a typo, and we are talking about TB2.

The hovering munition is attached under the wing in place of the missile. After launch, it spreads its wings and heads towards the target. The drone is designed to destroy ground and maritime radar, communications, electronic warfare, light armored vehicles, ammunition depots, strongholds and enemy manpower.

The maximum launch range of ALPAGUT is 60 km. The hovering munition carries a warhead weighing up to 11 kg and can travel at an altitude of 3.5 km. Once the target is detected it can follow it and fly in circles at an altitude of 300-1500 meters. The maximum flight time is about 60 minutes.
