Not only on Xbox: Age of Empires will also be released on mobile devices
Yesterday we wrote that World's Edge announced the version for Xbox consoles in celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Age of Empires series, but the game will appear not only there. In a short trailer on their YouTube channel, the developers announced a version of the strategy for iOS and Android devices.
Microsoft is again trying to enter the mobile gaming market and it has already partially succeeded, as it acquired Activision Blizzard, which already has several successful titles for mobile, including Call of Duty: Mobile. Now the company is taking the next step.
It should be noted that the series is no longer something completely new for these platforms. Age of Empires: Castle Siege and Age of Empires: World Domination were released in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Both projects failed miserably and are closed at the time of writing.
We did not learn anything about the game from the trailer, and there were no statements from the developers either, so for now we hope that Microsoft will take into account the mistakes of the past years.
